Following the wrap up of my Haikus in Salt blog series I wanted to start something new, so I’m picking up an idea froma post from a couple of months agoand I’m going to see where it goes 🙂
Being trans can be fucking tough, we have to deal with discriminationin the mainstream media, an inadequate medical system, and the stresses of hypervisibility. So much of the discourse I see in our community focusses on these negatives, and this makes sense. These are things that need to be talked about and I am grateful to the people who put in the work to address these issues.
But that’s not all we are. Being trans can be beautiful. It can be fulfilling. And that’s not something that gets talked about enough. Trans Joy is a blog series dedicated to the positive side of trans experiences.
I’ll be writing based on my own experiences, but I’m keen to include other voices and hope to invite guest writers to share their own. I hope that this will be a positive experience for the trans community <3
Please note I use trans as an umbrella term for anyone who identifies as a different gender to the one assigned at birth some or all of the time, including non-binary people and people who aren’t fully out. I hope to reflect diverse experiences in this blog series.
looking forward to the series
You’re awesome and I’m a trans blogger myself
Great article, exactly what I was looking for.
