Trans Joy – Enboobs

Trans Joy is a weekly blog series celebrating the positive side of trans experiences, in an attempt to bring some balance to contemporary trans discourses. This week I’m talking about my relationship with my tits.

CW: Discussion of Fatphobia and Bullying

I used to be embarassed by my chest, I have always had boobs (the picture below is not the product of any medical intervention), and growing up i was taught to be ashamed of my “moobs”. This discomfort was never gender dysphoria, but a product of bodyshaming (of fatness and of what were perceived to be feminine attributes) and bullying for being different.

Realising that i am non-binary, as well as unpicking the tangled webs of internalised fatphobia, has transformed my relationship with my body. Moobs have become enboobs and something I was once ashamed of has turned into a source of gender euphoria.

Loving my chest has become almost a radical act for me. It’s a refusal to allow anyone to shame my body or assign a gender any part of it. My boobs are not feminine or wrong, they are mine and they are sexy as fuck.
I am neither a man or a woman, and I love my enboobs.

I hope you all find some joy this week too ❤ If you want to contribute to this project then please get in touch 🙂

To avoid censorship I wanted to make clear that these are non-binary nipples
